After years of selling branded clothing, it was quite a change to switch to non-branded clothing. But why? 

Brands often have a rich history: a story of craftsmanship, innovation and creativity. Think of brands that started a hundred years ago with unique designs or revolutionary fabrics that people are still excited about.

I remember my father saying to me when we visited the largest hardware fair in Europe together: “This trade is not like it used to be.

” He pointed out the numerous counterfeit products, which looked identical but offered no authentic story. It made it clear that margins were under pressure as a result. 

The first label-free textile producer

Our largest supplier took a brave first step some 25 years ago by deciding to no longer put its name on clothing. From that moment on, clothing was left blank, except for a few mandatory labels such as sizing and washing instructions.

The focus shifted completely. It was no longer about promoting a brand; it was about improving quality, raising standards and developing a close partnership with production in Bangladesh.

Sustainable and responsible production

This collaboration has resulted in a factory that is an example for the textile industry in Bangladesh, where sustainability is key. Organic cotton and recycled materials form the basis for each product, all certified according to strict standards and the certificates obtained as a result: GOTS, Oeko-Tex and OCS. BSCI, SMETA, ISO 9001 since (2015 for production in Bangladesh)

Not only the employees benefit from this; the local communities and schools are also supported. This success is not a matter of one moment, but the result of 27 years of effort and belief in a better future for people, animals and the environment. The result is now visible: high-quality label-free products at an attractive price, so that customers can tell their own story.
