After years of selling branded clothing and products, it took some getting used to selling 'no brand'.
Why is that actually?
Because I appreciate the history of a brand. Brands that started a hundred years ago with a specific fabric or unique design, that everyone is still excited about.
I still remember going to the biggest hardware fair in Europe with my father and him saying this to me. 'This business is no fun anymore.' Just look at how many fakes there are now. Then you can tell a nice story about how you once started with a homemade drill in the attic…
You are currently being overwhelmed on all sides by cheaper alternatives that are actually identical, but have no story.
Margins are under pressure and customers cannot make much profit with this 'nice story'.
First Labelfree Textile Manufacturer
Our largest supplier was the first textile manufacturer to decide to stop using its name on clothing, about 25 years ago.
From that moment on, the clothing was simply left blank. Next to the size label and on the side the obligatory label with the washing instructions and the composition of the fabric.
The emphasis was no longer on promoting a story or one's own name. The emphasis was increasingly on continuously improving quality, tightening standards and improving cooperation with production in Bangladesh.
Sustainable production
At the moment there is a factory there that is an example for the rest of the country. The factory meets the strictest requirements for both people and the environment. Only organic cotton and as many recycled materials as possible are used. All certificates are obtained. GOTS, Oeko-Tex and OCS.
The employees, the residents of the area and also schools benefit from this. This is not an 'overnight' process, but requires a lot of time, 27 years of cooperation and belief in the good cause for people, animals and the environment. This is how we stand now. The best blank product at an attractive price, so that customers can tell their own story with these products.
